In 1988 I moved to Jersey City. For the past 30 years, I've led thousands of residents to creatively design their community park renovations through communal meetings and democratic votes. By 1999, 551 residents had completed the first great park renovation in J.C. history with Van Vorst Park. In 2004, I founded the Jersey City Parks Coalition—and went on to lead three and support two other major park renovations using this creative, democratic, empowering approach. I'm currently working with residents and the City on the renovation of historic Leonard Gordon Park.

EMPOWERMENT NOVELS
I’ve worked for over five years on a book series about Emperor Qin, the founder of China, and his modern quest to help all people of the world empower themselves.
As colossal undertakings like this can go… it is an ongoing work in progress.
At the end of the day, what I want most is to know that I’ve lived a life of empowerment, within myself, and supporting others in the fullness of their own.
